Custom Trace Colors in Trend Visualization

Request: Allow per-trace color selection (and ideally persist the choice in saved/shared views).

When plotting multiple properties, Connect Data Services (CDS) does not allow the user to assign colors to individual traces. Default colors are near-identical and hard to distinguish (effectively unusable for color-blind users as well). CSH/SME's workflow relies on semantic color conventions (e.g., red = alarm flag, aqua = cold/evaporator temperature) to read multi-trace charts at a glance.

Criteria:

  • User can change the color of any plotted property/pen.

  • Colors persist for the session and within saved views.

  • Default palette provides visually distinct, accessibility-friendly colors.
