Limiting the List Summaries of Sequential Data Streams to defined summary values

Problem: As of now, the Data Services API returns all summary types for all intervals of a stream (Stream Data) For example, if a user wants to request the mean of a number of intervals, they will get all summary types including unneeded ones such as the minimum, the standard deviation or the kurtosis. This creates unnecessary load on systems and resources. Multiple stakeholders interested in consuming data from our Data Services tenant have delayed their adoption because they are irritated by this.

Needed feature: Similarly to the Aveva PI Web API a feature to indicate which summary type is actually needed would be required. For the PI Web API, a user can indicate the summary type in their HTTP request and only the summary types indicated are returned (Summary Type ).

Value: Usage of resources and response time would be minimized. This would allow us to convince more stakeholders to switch to CONNECT Data Services.

We would like to hear what other CONNECT Data Services users think and would welcome any updates on this issue. Thank you for considering this feature request.
