BACnet Trend Log Object Collection.

BACnet TrendLog is an object that a controller may implement. Once configured, it’ll keep in memory a certain number of records for one particular point. It functions as a buffer in BACnet controllers to hold historical data in the event of disconnection from BACnet client such as a BAS system. Example scenario:

The BAS server or PI historian Server suffers from a power loss. Despite this power outage, the BACnet controller or PLC remains powered and continues to collect equipment information such as temperature. Once the server comes back, the AVEVA adapter for BACnet should be able to poll the trend log objects for a given tag and fill in the time-series information with the data that was collected during the outage. This functionality would provide the functionality needed to convert our Validated EMS system from a traditional platform like Siemens to OSI-PI.
