A Bar Chart for String Data to display the count of each string state

I am working on duplicating some Insight functionality in Connect Visualization Services.

In Insight I was able to select a String Tag (Machine State Label) and put this on a Bar Chart to display the Count over the time period for each Label or display the Time in State for each Label.

I cannot find anything in Connect Visualization that supports the String Variable

    This should include Discrete (Boolean) Tags. It should provide Count as well as Time in State. This if functionality that is available today in Insight and Historian Client Web.
